Alaska Marine Highway System

The Alaska Marine Highway System is the state-run ferry service that connects many of Alaska’s coastal towns. Running from Bellingham, Washington all the way out to Dutch Harbor near the end of the Aleutian Islands, the AMHS is a beautiful way to see the state. And yes, there are routes where you’ll find people camping on deck, but you don’t have to do that. There are cabins, seating areas inside and out, and quiet spaces to enjoy the voyage. We’ve got lots of great information to help you plan your adventure on the ferries of the Alaska Marine Highway System.
